When you need to harvest celery?
Wait for 3 to 5 months after planting the celery
Celery takes almost 5-6 months to grow completely. However, it is usually harvested immature celery stalks.

Harvest celery before outdoor temperature reaches 18C
Don’t harvest the celery when temperature is cold or when humidity is present in air. Rather, harvest celery when weather becomes hot. The hot temperature will make the celery dry & bitter.
If you prefer to harvest darker celery stalks, you need to harvest it round about 21 Celsius to 24 Celsius. In this way the celery stalk will become little bit tougher but it will not become inedible.

The lower part of celery stalk, excluding leaves, must be 15 cm tall. However, the tallest celery stalks can reach up to a height of 46cm. How much height of celery stalks could be is completely depends on the plant, weather conditions, & soil features.
If your celery plant is still not reached to the harvest size, you can wait for another week and measure again the height of celery stalk.
How much wide celery plant be?
The celery plant must be 3 inches wide a least if it is measured across from one side to another. However, if the celery plant doesn’t reach the required width, you need to wait up to 1 to 2 weeks before harvesting.

Separate celery stalks

Cut off the base of celery plant

Use a straight-line angle to remove the celery stalk. Don’t make a diagonal angle because it will remove few stalks leaving other stalks behind. Avoid using scissors because it may destroy the whole celery plant.

Store celery stalks in a bag
You need to store the celery almost 2 to 3 weeks in a refrigerator. After you have removed the celery leaves, the celery stalks is able to last longer.
Use a portable bag to store celery stems. The bag must be open form one side. Place the bag in refrigerator drawer have high moisturizing till you use them.
If you place the celery in drawer without removing leaves, the celery stems will last in 2-3 days.
Refrigerate the cut stalks
